Festa Santo Amaro is underway from the 10th – 15th January. This festival commemorates the close of the Christmas season, where people sweep the cupboards clean of all the treats left from over Christmas, and the family’s have one last meal on the 15th to finish everything up. Christmas trees, decorations and nativity sets are also taken down.
The largest festival is held in Santa Cruz, with plenty of entertainment, with the 15th being the main day and closing the end of Christmas.
