Monarch flight ZB982 from Birmingham to Madeira due to land at 18.10 Monday, had to make an emergency landing in Faro due to problems with the hydraulic system.
An emergency landing was prepared with the plane doing a a few laps to dump fuel before landing. The plane landing without problem, The arrival and departure of the flight to Madeira was cancelled and passengers will remain the night in hotels in Faro. News will be given Tuesday morning as to the repair or replacement of the aircraft.
320 people have been affected, mainly british holiday makers.
