Just a quick up-date on the fire in Serra d’Agua, which seems to still be active with 3 fire engines, and 9 firefighters at the scene. Although the fire is active it is controlled an brings no danger to life or property.

I would like to say a big thank you to Oliver Hagel, who is spending his holiday on the Island hiking, and sent me these photos. They were taken while walking the Levada do Norte, and the fires where burning the other side.

Oliver also sent this video he took while travelling the Encumeada pass

And on a lighter note Oliver sent in a 360 degree view from Bica da Cana, one of my favourite parts of the island.

Thanks again Oliver for sharing this, and look forward to anything else you may have seen on your walks.
