Hotel Alto Lido reopens completely renovated

Aimed at refurbishing, the Hotel Alto Lido reopens this Friday, September 28, at 5:00 p.m., with the aim of presenting its new image, spaces and services.

The brand new signature ‘A Tale from Madeira’ reveals a hotel with a story to tell, where each guest can create their own adventure and share their memories and experiences.

The architectural project was carried out by the RH + Arquitetos office, in particular through Hugo Jesus and Roberto Castro, which was based on a dynamic and exclusive hotel concept, seeking to grant a sophisticated contemporary language building with a close connection to the sea and with a good integration with the dominant verdant landscape element on the monumental road. The interior design and decoration project was designed by Giano Gonçalves.

“The big challenge was to make the hotel current and welcoming, opting for the fluidity of space and always, for decorative elements of extreme curiosity and organic beauty. The bold and imposing stripes on the two-tone “washed-out” floors and walls were the starting point for this project, a daring and risky proposal that shone in full “, writes management in a brief note sent to the press.

With a total of 315 rooms, the accommodation offers 177 standard rooms, 66 studios, 42 deluxe premium rooms, 20 apartments and 10 suites, with privileged views and additional services.

The Alto Lido Hotel also includes a new spa area with three treatment rooms, a heated indoor pool, sensorial showers, a sauna, a Turkish bath and a gym.

The Alto Lido Hotel also includes a new Business Centre area, prepared to offer a greater comfort which is equipped with the latest technologies. It has an auditorium with 56 seats, a conference room with 100 seats in the audience and a meeting room.

This unit is owned by Grupo Cardoso, currently the third largest hotel group in Funchal, with an offer of 1,060 beds, distributed by two four star units: Alto Lido Hotel and Hotel Baía Azul.  From DN
