Palm trees beautify Porto Santo center

Largo das Palmeiras, in the city center of Porto Santo, came to life again with the placement of eight palm trees.

A situation that is pleasing the people of the island.

This is an action carried out by the Municipality of Porto Santo.

  4. This could turn into something Pythonesque. For goodness sakes, don’t get started on the migratory unladen velocity of the European Swallow as opposed to the African Swallow.

    The Palm Plant/Tree*s look fab, though.

  5. I didn’t know a palm tree was a fern . I love learning something I didn’t know . For instance , watching a programme about the original Harrier Jump Jets. The pilots could only be 5foot 7 of 5foot 8 to fit in the cockpit .
    My second is embarrassing to say the least . I didn’t know that the green leaf on a Remembrance Day poppy is set at 11 o’clock.

  6. If memory serves me well the ejection seat fires you up at 100 feet per second ( thrust) so you clear the aircraft without hitting aircraft.
    I could tell you about what happened to a pilot who managed a crash landing but then nose of aircraft hit an oak tree and ejection seat fired him up through branches, i was part of the airforce team from airfield construction 5003 squadron who went to recover the aircraft for examination at Bicester of what went wrong, believe me it wasn’t very nice.
    If not for the ejection seat firing him up after landing it in the field he would have survived.

      1. My claim to fame was during my time in RAF I was on Sir Winston Churchil’s funeral parade, 18 years old and an unbelievable honour.

  7. We were in Germany for 10 years . 4 seperate postings. Where were you Maurice? I had flying lessons at RAF Laarbrook . Only 4 seater but it was brilliant .
