Its almost that time of year again, when we are all rushing around like crazy getting ready for the festive season.
Everyone will be looking to see what the Christmas lights in Funchal will be like this year. We have been told the lights should all be turned on together on the 1st December, in downtown Funchal and in the surrounding areas, instead of stages with a weeks gap between.
The traditional Christmas lights in Madeira will cost this year approximately 1.8 million euros and include improvements, especially in the lighting of buildings, according to the Regional Secretary for the Economy, Tourism and Culture.
We should see many more lights and more colour in Funchal, especially where there are lots of tourists, and more buildings will be outlined in lights. A more traditional look to how Funchal always was in the past.
