Biblioteca do Funchal welcomes Donald Silva from the United States, and will be doing a talk in English on Tuesday 17th January at 6pm.
Donald Silva is a professor at the New Hampshire University, and will be the speaker for this special evening.
His talk will be about the discovery of Madeira, talking of the 100 year war, Portugal and the new international markets, Naval construction, Navigation and Cartography.
Donald Silva is a descendant of Madeiran family, and first visited Madeira in 1970, and after this viit he started the study of Conferences and books about Madeira. He has also written a couple of books, “The Black Kestrel” and “The Magnolia Lectures” and “Bibliography & Internet Guide for the Madeira Islands”
