A car drove straight into Prince Charles Café in the San Pedro area of Funchal this morning, right in front of the church, causing high great damages to the commercial establishment.
The accident took place between the descent of the steep Causeway of Santa Clara, and the driver was confused against the protection posts, literally entering the door inside the establishment, that at that time was closed.
The photos shared on social networks show the destruction trail caused by the vehicle. The authorities took care of the incident and it was also called an ambulance of the Portuguese Red Cross.
The ‘Prince Charles’ Café is one of the oldest in the area, having been the target of a brief incursion by the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, and his entourage, during his visit to Funchal to deal with the fires in August last year.
