The Arpão submarine is one of the great ‘attractions’ of the port of Funchal since yesterday.
The Arpão, which will remain in the port of Funchal until the 29th, has a garrison composed of 44 soldiers, 7 of them officers. It is one of two submarines acquired by the Portuguese state with costs that total one billion euros.
The ‘visit’ of the Arpão is part of a normal mission of surveillance of the national maritime area.
The opening hours for the submarine are understood as follows: May 27 – 10h / 12h, 13h30 / 15h, 20h30 / 22h; May 28 – 4 a.m. / 7 p.m., 8:30 p.m.
