June is the busiest month of the year for festivals. There is so much going on its almost impossible to list them all.

We have all the saints starting with Santo Antonio 12th, São Joao 23rd-24th, and São Pedro 28th-29th.

The Cherry Festival happens 16th-18th June in Jardim da Serra,  Camara de Lobos

The Espada Preta Festival (Black scabbard fish) happens in Camara de Lobos from the 28th June- 2nd July, a great event and well worth going to.

Also at the end of the month you have the Madeira Classic rally, (Volta à Madeira) 24th-25th June.

The month all kicks off with the Atlantic Festival, with a fireworks display every Saturday evening down in the port of Funchal.

Program below.

The Atlantic Festival, which marks the beginning of the summer season in Madeira, includes a diverse set of initiatives distributed throughout the month of June, notably the pyromusical shows, the Madeira Music Festival and the Madeira Islands Regional Week. Art.
The pyromusical shows take place on the four consecutive Saturdays of June, at 10:30 p.m. on Pontinha’s outdoor jetty, with wonderful and exciting shows, each lasting approximately 19 minutes, combining fireworks and music in a unique experience for visitors and residents.
