Four tourists had to be rescued yesterday in the village of Bom Sucesso, by a team of Madeiran Volunteer Firefighters, after an alert launched at 3:20 pm.
Despite the ban, the entrance to the path by the Monte continues to be used by visitors and this will be another case which seems to repeat often.
Eight men from the rescue team and mountain rescue supported by two vehicles, were in place to assist the tourists.
There is no knowledge of any injured.
The pathway is clearly marked and closed off, I hope fines are put into place to pay for this stupidity.
