A public water pipe burst in the middle of the esplanade of the Golden Gate Café yesterday morning, partially flooding the street next to the establishment.

According to a plumber who was already taking care of this occurrence, the ‘bend’ of a pipe broke off causing the flooding,  members of the Camara from the Funchal City Hall had to open a fire hydrant right next to it, so that pressure from water reduced in the burst area.

Some passersby are now avoiding passing the front door of the cafe and the black ‘can’ that you can see in the first image serves so that the water does not abound ‘on all sides’.
