The ferry ‘Lobo Marinho’ was chartered by the easyJet airline this afternoon to transport 330 passengers to Porto Santo and from there to Funchal another 220.
The company chose to make its flights diverge to Porto Santo and thus to overcome the problem dictated by bad atmospheric conditions at the airport of Madeira,
The departure of the ‘Lobo Marinho’ from Funchal took place at 4:45 p.m., and the ship should return from Porto Santo at 7:00 p.m. An extraordinary operation since the ship usually does not make trips on Tuesday at this time of year.
Until 17h, 13 flights, two of which from easyJet, did not land at Madeira International Airport – Cristiano Ronaldo, and 17 did not leave. For some periods the wind gives truces, allowing some landings and take-offs, but the truth is that hundreds of passengers wait for information at the airport.
