The tail end of hurricane Ophelia should bring us our first proper soaking of rain over the next couple days.

The hurricane which reached category 3 as is past south of the Azores, putting most of the islands on red alert and causing a great deal of problems, is now heading towards the UK as a tropical storm.

Rain is expected later today with the possibility of thunderstorms, and tomorrow we should see more heavy rain across the island bringing much need water.

I will keep an eye on the weather over the next few days, at the moment there are no weather warnings, but this could change, and flights from the UK might be affected from the approaching storm tomorrow.
