The fire that started yesterday in the county of Ribeira Brava, and that even threatened some houses, remains active and is being fought by three fire companies.
Ribeira Brava firefighters, Câmara de Lobos Volunteers and Madeiran Volunteers are still on site, specifically in the forest area, where the fire is very active, homes are no longer in danger at this moment.

During the early hours of the morning, the president of the Regional Civil Protection Service of Madeira, José Dias, told Lusa that “some houses were at risk, but the situation was controlled and no material or human damages were caused.”
The official said that the fight against these fires in the west of the island of Madeira involves 20 men, supported by six vehicles.
