The Vicentes Museum is being recovered after long years closed. The works are moving fast. However, the plot of the original and centennial building, with facade for Rua da Carreira, is being altered. They have blocked off the windows upstairs, above the arched windows, as the photos document.
Where is the Regional Directorate of Culture? Do you not supervise the maintenance of the façade of this historic building for a variety of reasons? In addition to having housed for many years the rich estate of “Vicentes Photógrafos” was a milestone during events of the old life of Carnival of old, when Rua da Carreira was a central space of amusements. Many eggs and flour were thrown from these now closed windows in the historic and mad carnival celebrations of the past.
