The Portuguese Air Force, through the squadron 504, held today an urgent long-distance medical transport of a new-born baby from Madeira to the Continent. The child was accompanied by SESARAM doctors and also received by a medical team from INEM.
The aircraft, a Falcon 50, took off from the Aerodrome in Figo Maduro, Lisbon, at 7:35 am, bound for Funchal. The aircraft returned to Lisbon at 11:05 am, waiting for a medical team, supported by a vehicle from the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM), which transported the child to the specialised health unit.
The Falcon 50, for the speed it can achieve and the ability to reconfigure its interior, has once again proved to be crucial in a delicate and urgent mission.
