An EasyJet plane leaving Madeira Airport yesterday afternoon was struck by an alleged lightning bolt as it approached the runway at Lisbon Airport.

There were no injuries, as well as no damage to the aircraft, but for safety and also prevention, the company has begun a complete survey of the aircraft.

According to the “Economic Journal”, just after 7:00 pm, the plane’s own commander warned passengers that there was a lightning strike on the plane and that this had not caused any problem in the aircraft’s systems.

Also according to the same publication, there were 80 passengers and crew on the plane that left Madeira and arrived in Lisbon at around 6:15 pm yesterday on a trip that some passengers report to having “a lot of turbulence”.
