JPP wants to valorise Machico flares
It is recalled that, as the DIARIO reported yesterday, the Parliamentary Group of the Juntos por Povo (JPP) has submitted to the Legislative Assembly of Madeira (ALRAM) for discussion a draft resolution calling for “inventory, classification and dissemination of the Machico fagots as an intangible cultural heritage “, based on the Legal Regime for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of RAM.
Currently, this secular tradition of Madeira and Porto Santo is only represented in Machico, in the religious festivities of the Blessed Sacrament.
