The Association Protecting the Poor, between now and next Saturday, February 10 will host for overnight all people who are in a situation of exposure to cold and rain. Distribution of appropriate clothing, soup, hot drinks and cake will be made. The Street Team for Homeless People – ERSA – will intervene in the streets of the city of Funchal, next to this population in order to send it to the Centre of Night Accompaniment – CAN – or to deliver a hot drink and blanket to those who not accept the host.
All other services will be functioning normally, says the institution on its Facebook page.
It should be noted that according to the predictions of the climatic conditions for the Madeira Archipelago of low temperatures, and more specifically, that which relates to the municipality of Funchal, where it is expected minimum temperatures of 11 degrees and maximum of 16 degrees, between the day before tomorrow and February 9, the Regional Government, through the Institute of Social Security of Madeira (ISSM, IP-RAM) triggered some protection measures for social emergency situations for homeless people.
