An elderly man yesterday fell into a ravine in Ponto do Pargo, with a height that is judged to be over 200 meters. Mountain rescue team of the Volunteer Fire-fighters of Calheta used a drone to help locate the body, in a place of difficult access. He is an 82-year-old man who reportedly fell early in the morning, allegedly when he was feeding sheep. The man would have died almost instantly.
The rescue of the body only concluded this morning where rescuers used transport by sea for the body, that had been in a difficult area to reach.
