The strong sea turmoil that was felt last night along the Madeiran coast caused water to enter the houses along the road in the Fishermen’s Quarter in Madalena do Mar, scaring the residents but without causing great damage.
“My son was sleeping, it was one in the morning or two, and he woke up with the water above him, but that was it,” says Ana Cipriano, who lives in this neighbourhood.
Although everything went for the best, Ana confesses that worry about the bad weather did not let her sleep last night.
The resident also said that the only similar situation in the Magdalena do Mar that can be traced back to the years of her childhood. From DN
