A foreign citizen was rescued yesterday by the Portuguese Red Cross after suffering a fall in the botanical garden in Funchal.

The middle-aged man was injured due to falling against a cactus, while he was walking through an area with these species.

He had wounds on almost the whole body, especially on the hands, legs and abdomen. A very complicated situation for the unfortunate man, who was rescued and transported to the Emergency Department of Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital by the Red Cross team.
