After a stay on the continent that lasted longer than originally planned, the speed skating team of Prazeres are on their way to the Region.
Calhetense coach Alípio Silva explained to JM that after the initial problems, with the cancellation of the flight and the lack of food vouchers, the long journey is almost over, with the return scheduled for 4:05 pm this afternoon. This is also a larger plane that TAP have put on to help get other stranded people to their destinations.
Along with the Prazeres athletes, there are also some skaters from the Santanense team, who were unable to return to Madeira yesterday.
The coach also said that the team, which was up until this afternoon staying in a hotel in Ericeira, was “well followed, after the initial problems”, ensuring that they had nothing to say about the stay.
“The problem was with the ‘vouchers’ distributed that did not arrive at all,” he said. “We had to split meals, among all, but after that, our stay at the hotel went well. We were able to rest, we had our meals, we were well accompanied, “he concluded.
After several hours waiting for flight to leave Lisbon, the team of Clube Desportivo dos Prazeres ended up spending the night in a hotel in Ericeira.
