Today, at 4:00 p.m., the Quinta Jardins do Imperador will be open to the public. Another offer, especially for nature lovers.
To mark the official opening, the gardens host, around this time, the regional secretary for Environment and Natural Resources, Susana Prada.
This is one of the most emblematic Quintas in Madeira, because Emperor Charles of Austria resided there after his exile in Madeira in 1921. On April 1, 1922, the Emperor passed away on Thursday, at age 34.
The Quinta is about 4.5 hectares and is located in Sítio do Pico-Monte.
“It maintains a rich botanical offer, as for example the sequoias, the European beeches, the criptomies, the beautiful shade, the magnolias, the camellias among other species”, emphasises the communiqué of the secretary.
To mark the day of the official opening to the public of the Gardens of the Emperor, will be held the 3rd edition of Monte do Imperador, organized by the Parish Council of Monte.
