The airline TAP just canceled, on Friday afternoon, another flight to Funchal leaving several dozen passengers in Lisbon.
Flight TP 1677 departing at 7.25pm in Lisbon and arrival in Funchal at 9.10 p.m. was a last minute cancellation. Some of the passengers, natives of Madeira, were already on their way to the check-in zone when they were informed of the cancellation.
According to one of the passengers reported to the DN, the TAP notification was sent by written message and in English: your flight was suppressed.
Outraged, the passengers sought clarification from the airline’s counter. The answer is short: “operational reasons”.
The alternative that, for now (until 17h) has been proposed to passengers is to travel to Madeira tomorrow morning at 7 o’clock.
Among the passengers who saw the canceled flight are Adão Silva, deputy chair of the PSD parliamentary group in the Assembly of the Republic, one of the speakers invited to participate in the seminar “Local Development and Sustainability”, an initiative of the Regional Government through the Regional Secretariat of Inclusion and Social Affairs, which will take place tomorrow, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., in the auditorium of the Rectory of the University of Madeira, in Funchal.
