4.5G technology arrives in Madeira, the fastest and most advanced data network in the country.
In the last four years NOS has invested 30 million euros in Madeira, and now the new service of the telecommunications company is also in the Region.
Because of this, this Thursday morning, the Madeira Congress Centre is hosting the presentation of the service, at the technology front, of the telecommunications operator.
In the Congress Centre, in addition to the NOS Madeira team, Miguel Almeida and Jorge Graça, CEO and administrator of the parent company, spoke about the project, and they travelled to the island to make the project known. José Carmo, dean of the University of Madeira, also spoke in the framework of a new protocol between UMa and the NOS.
Among the novelties is the investment of the mobile network in the Madeira tunnels.
The President of the Regional Government was also the speaker. Miguel Albuquerque welcomed the company’s investment in Madeira and highlighted other news of the day: the signing of a protocol (through a subsidiary company of Electricidade da Madeira) – which we have already noted in this digital edition – for the installation of a submarine cable between Madeira and the continent, a “digital highway and a technological emancipation” that “will allow to lower prices and make them the same as the continent.” The protocol for the installation of the submarine cable was signed on Thursday morning, “an investment that will start as early as September this year.” from DN
I pray for the day we get a decent radio station that covers the whole island…..
