Binter Canarias will make the connections between Madeira and Porto Santo for the next three years. The announcement has just been communicated by the Office of the Minister of Planning and Infrastructures in a note distributed to the media.
“The Government has decided to award to Binter Canarias SA the provision of scheduled air services, under a concession regime, on the Porto Santo-Funchal-Porto Santo air link”, announces the Portuguese Government.
According to the same statement, Binter has, from today, the possibility of accepting reservations for flights from June 5, day immediately after the end of the current concession agreement with Aerovip.
For the Government of António Costa, this ensures “the continuity of a service of the utmost importance for the inhabitants of the Autonomous Region of Madeira”.
“The selection of the company was carried out in the context of an international public tender launched in October 2017,” the statement added. The contract with Binter will be valid for a period of three years, according to the cabinet of the minister Pedro Marques.
