We are almost into June, and nearly half way through the year, can you believe…it seems like only last week we were talking about how great Christmas and New Year was on the island.
June is the busiest month for Festivals. The Atlantic Festival being the main, running through the whole month, with the popular fireworks show on the Saturday evenings. Please Note if there are 5 Saturdays in the months, the fireworks always take place on the last 4 Saturdays, So the first firework display will be on June 9th.
Other Festivals in the month include Sé Festivities in the streets around Sé Cathedral, Regional Bands meet in Ribeira Brava, Quinhentista Market in Machico, Sopas do Campo in Sao Vicente, Bread Fair in Funchal, Regional arts Fair, Cherry Festival in Jardim da Serra, Plus the festivals of the 3 saints, Santo Antonio, São João and São Pedro, which are hugely popular around the island. These are just a taste of what is coming in June.
