Ship of Naviera Armas ensures travel between Madeira and the Continent.
A ship belonging to the Naviera Armas group is expected to guarantee travel between Madeira and the Portuguese mainland.
The public tender ended at midnight yesterday, after the deadline was extended at the request of an interested party.
RTP Madeira has learned that the Canary Island ship owner António Armas is trying to provide a ferry to secure the maritime connection for three or four months this summer.
The availability may involve the transfer of the ship to another company as the Spanish ship-owner has never shown an interest in resuming the maritime connections between Madeira and the Portuguese mainland.
This solution puts an end to the most difficult problem to solve for the Regional Government of Madeira, which was to find a ship available for travel. Taken from RTPM
