On May 7th, the Italian Navy’s multi-mission Alpine frigate will arrive at the port of Funchal for a 24-hour stay.

According to the honorary consul of Italy in Madeira, Pietro Luigi Valle, the arrival of the vessel – the fifth ship delivered to the Italian Navy, the fourth in the “antisubmarine” version and equipped with state-of-the-art technological systems – will be scheduled for 2:00 p.m. your departure is scheduled for 14:00 the next day (May 8).

It is recalled that this frigate left the naval base of Mar Grande in Taranto on May 2 for a naval campaign that will take it to North America for the next two months.

This crossing of the Atlantic Ocean, towards the American continent, is seen by the Italian Navy as “an opportunity for training and maintenance of levels of readiness in order to strengthen relations with allied forces and regional authorities.”
