One of my favourite events of the year, and well worth visiting if you are on the Island.

In the first weekend of June, Machico will again receive the 16th Century Market, which will have about 1200 extras this year. The theme of this edition is dedicated to the Tristão heirs.

4:30 pm – Dramatizations of the period: Baptized of Teixeira Lançarote

5:00 pm – Animation (Music, dance, saltimbancos, games …)

9:00 pm – Courtship of the Infants (Misericórdia / Rua da Árvore / Ribeirinho / Alameda / Stage / S. Roque)

June 2 – “The Lands”
