The 48-year-old man who allegedly killed his ex-brother-in-law at the Becinta da Jacinta in Funchal was admitted to the courthouse in Funchal at around 3 pm.
The alleged perpetrator came face-to-face and will now be heard by the Judge to hear the coercion measures.
The alleged killer was arrested last Saturday after the neighbours alerted the authorities. The body of José Sousa, 44, was quartered and hidden inside a wall in the house they shared.
The victim lived in the house from the age of 5, and it’s only recently since the death of his parents that the ex-brother- in- law moved in, only about 3 months ago. Neighbours witnessed constant arguments, which eventually ended in his death.
