Following the cancellation of the flight TP1691, scheduled to leave Lisbon at 9:50 pm, many passengers to Madeira were forced to stay overnight at Humberto Delgado Airport in Lisbon due to lack of airline support.
The plane should have arrived in Madeira by 11:35 pm Monday. This did not happen, forcing passengers to look for alternatives. Most passengers were found spending the night in the aisles of the airport, waiting for a solution from TAP to bring them back home.
This was the third flight cancelled by the Portuguese company throughout the day yesterday. Two from Lisbon and one from Oporto.
The two later flights which were cancelled also affected the passengers that were due to leave on the first two flights from Madeira this morning.
