With more and more Britons falling in love with Madeira, we are now operating flights and holidays to the island all year-round from all nine of our UK bases.

Madeira’s popularity has really taken off in recent years, and we have expanded our summer and winter programmes in response to this demand, making us the UK’s largest tour operator to the island.

In total, we have over 400,000 seats on sale to Madeira, with major growth for Summer 18 and Summer 19, as well as for Winter 18/19, demonstrating the island’s appeal as a year-round destination.

This Summer we will operate up to 12 weekly flights to Madeira from across our network of nine UK bases. This includes a brand new exclusive route from Belfast International and up to three services a week from Manchester and London Stansted, giving holidaymakers greater flexibility. This means we have almost 135,000 seats on sale for Summer 18 – a 36% capacity increase on last summer. This growth shows no sign of stopping, as next summer will see an ever bigger programme in operation thanks to another 21% increase in capacity, meaning over 160,000 seats on sale.

As well as offering summer sun, Madeira’s balmy weather, charming culture and range of outdoor activities make it a stand-out destination that can be enjoyed year-round. We are ramping up capacity by 29% for Winter 18/19, with up to 13 weekly flights departing from across nine UK bases from the end of October until March 19.

With the demand for great value package holidays to Madeira showing no sign of slowing down, we have extended the number of 2-5 star hotels that we have on sale in Madeira to more than 65, and we are offering customers the freedom of a villa holiday alongside the same package benefits as Jet2holidays, through Jet2Villas.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: “Madeira is a very important destination for Jet2.comand Jet2holidays, which is reflected by these fantastic growth figures. The island has established itself as a firm favourite with Britons of all ages, as it has so much to offer right throughout the year. This news is a real boost for the tourism industry and is living proof that, as the largest UK tour operator into Madeira, we are not just working to fill hotels in the peak summer season but that we are working with our hotel and industry partners such as the Madeira Promotion Bureau to achieve the best possible results all-year round.”

Roberto Santa Clara, Managing Director of Madeira Promotion Bureau, said: “We are very pleased with the growth of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays operation to Madeira. This is the result of a long partnership between the company and Madeira Promotion Bureau, as we have been developing joint strategies that led to these excellent results. Jet2.com and Jet2holidays is a very important partner and has been showing an important commitment with the destination.

“It’s important to state that we believe the British interest in Madeira keeps on growing and we are reaching new audiences. Over the last couple of years, Madeira Promotion Bureau has been developing a new communication strategy, based on the claim “Discover Madeira”, to showcase the variety if the activities that exist in Madeira. We are already experiencing results and there are clearly some changes: we see on the British media headlines like “Madeira is made for those who love the outdoors” or “Europe’s adventure capital” and the average age of our visitors is decreasing. We will keep on with this strategy, and along with Jet2.comand Jet2holidays, we hope to reach good results.”
