TAP was honored yesterday at the European Gala of the World Travel Awards (WTA), considered the ‘Oscars’ of the Tourism sector, with three awards.
The national airline was considered the European Airline Leader for South America, the European Airline Leader for Africa and its onboard magazine UP Magazine was recognized, for the fourth time in a row, as Leader in Europe.
The World Travel Awards were established in 1993, celebrating in this 25 year edition, with the aim of rewarding and distinguishing Excellence in all sectors of the tourism industry.
Today, the WTA are globally recognised as the definitive seal of quality, with the winners constituting themselves as the benchmark of excellence to which all others aspire.
The World Travel Awards ceremony took place last night in Athens.
TAP have cancelled more than 50 flights to and from Madeira in the month of June alone. These are cancelled due to operational reasons, which seems to mean they have a shortage of staff including pilots.
