It is a new information that clarifies a news released recently by the Lusa Agency: the tourists disappeared in the mountains of Madeira are contactable but have not yet been located or rescued.
According to the firemen reported to Diario Noticias , it was possible to talk to tourists by mobile phone but foreign citizens do not know how to give references of their location, nor do they know where they left the car.
Firefighters have already asked the PSP to help locate the car and are considering asking Civil Protection a drone to see if they can locate tourists through aerial imagery.
They will also start using sirens now to see if the tourists – the father and the son of Dutch nationality – listen and thus can reach them.
Tourists may be in the area of Encumeada, between the municipalities of São Vicente and Porto Moniz, but there is still no concrete information.
