The Municipality of Funchal announced in a statement that it will start tomorrow the third free municipal rabies vaccination campaign and electronic identification for dogs over three months old, following the success of the two campaigns launched so far.
“These have traveled all the parishes of the county, which will happen again, and have already vaccinated 1168 domestic animals. The new campaign again does not present any costs to the holders of domestic dogs and includes the vaccination, the placement of the chip and the registration of their animals. After the postponement due to bad weather last week, the campaign will start tomorrow, going through the parishes of São Martinho, Monte and Santo António, “reads the press release of the municipality.
Idalina Perestrelo, who works with the Animal Cause in the Municipality, explains that “the objective is to continue to give all citizens the opportunity to vaccinate and identify their dog or bitch for free, in order to ensure the coverage of the anti-rabies prophylaxis of domestic animals and greater control of stocks of these animals in Funchal. “
Thus, due to the need to reschedule the actions planned for last weekend, next Monday the campaign will, in turn, be in São Gonçalo and, on Tuesday, by the parish of Sé.
