Although the worse seems to be over, and it much clearer now with flights now landing at the airport, the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) has raised the rain warning for the south coast and the mountainous regions of the island to orange.
The information was updated on Monday morning by IPMA. The orange warning is valid until the late afternoon today due to the prediction of “rainy periods or showers, sometimes strong and accompanied by thunder”.
From 18 hours, the warning goes down to yellow and lasts until 21 hours throughout the archipelago.
