Veteran Northern Irish comedian Adrian Walsh, who has suffered a serious stroke three years ago as he passed through Funchal on a cruise ship, revealed to the Belfast Telegraph yesterday that he is preparing a show in Madeira to mark its survival and the good way it was treated on the island.

The entertainment professional, now 69, was aboard the ship ‘Oceana’ and suffered a stroke during a stopover in Funchal on November 27, 2015. The problem was serious because it happened in a region of the brain where it is usually fatal or leaves severe damage, which was not the case. Adrian Walsh has been recovering for three weeks in Madeira before returning to his country and has only words of praise to the health professionals who treated him.
