Two men, residents of the municipality of Funchal, were arrested for the crime in Madeira, with more than 7,300 doses of heroin, and were held in pre-trial detention, said the Public Security Police (PSP).
According to the statement released by the PSP Regional Command of Madeira, the detention occurred in an intervention developed last Tuesday.
The same document mentions that the detainees are 54 and 61 years old, are of foreign nationality, but resident in Funchal, and are indicted for the practice of the crime of trafficking in narcotics. The PSP adds that, in addition to the drug, “about 7310 individual doses of product suspected of being heroin,” were also seized five mobile phones and more than 2,300 euros in cash. The police authority mentions that the two detainees were heard in a first judicial interrogation, after being present to the Department of Investigation and Criminal Action of the Judicial District of Madeira.
