Three nautical rescue floats were placed in different sites along the coast of Paul do Mar.
This is an initiative of activist Zita Cardoso, who was joined by the parish council of Paul do Mar. The idea results from the occurrence of some maritime accidents with tourists in the island, as well as the death of Giló, last Christmas day.
In carrying out this action that supports a social cause, the operational commander of SANAS, Emanuel Santos, announced that the organization is designing the installation of a Rescue Station in the Marina of Calheta.
The action was attended by the councilor of the Chamber of Calheta, Aleixo Abreu, the president of the Paul do Mar Board, Paulo Sergio and the deputies Sofia Canha and José Manuel Rodrigues.
