The Regional Police of the Public Security Police (PSP), Madeira, reports that it has held a 62-year-old citizen of foreign nationality for the crime of drug trafficking.

The arrest took place in an investigation carried out by the Criminal Investigation Station of the Police Division of Funchal, in one of the arteries of the city, following investigations related to the seizure of narcotics last week, and it was possible to seize another 352 doses of heroin, some of which had been transported inside the suspect’s body. The citizen in question, who had been hospitalised for a few days because of the capsules containing the drug he had ingested, was presented last Friday to the Judicial Court of the District of Funchal, and the preventive custody measure was applied.
