The doctor Rafael Macedo, who denounced a situation of underutilisation of the Nuclear Medicine Unit of the Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça, using the private for the execution of examinations spoke today to the deputies in the Assembly of Madeira.
Medical malpractice, patients who are not screened for appointment of service directors and at least six deaths at the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital because of a bacterium. The statements are from the doctor Rafael Macedo in the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry on the operation of the Nuclear Medicine Unit of SESARAM. Today was the first hearing of the Commission.
I have not really been following all this story which has been going on for a few months now I think, and a lit of it does not translate well. I am pleased though this doctor is standing up and pointing all the situations out, along with patients being pressured to pay private. I think it all started with medical machines that we have here but not being used, and the use of three paiteints having chemotherapy, to what should be one.
Also stories of tourists to the island that have been shared on my blog and messages sent to me are told they need urgent operations, when returning back home nothing of the sort is needed.just thank god they never went through with the operations here.
