The Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip today expressed their condolences to the German people for the deaths of 29 citizens of that country after the bus accident in Madeira.

A message published on the British Royal Family account on twitter reads: “Prince Philip and I were deeply saddened by the news of the bus accident in Madeira.”

“We express our sincere condolences, our thoughts and prayers are with the families and relatives of those affected,” he added.

The message is addressed to the President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, according to the agency dpa.
