The Institute of Wine, Embroidery and Handicrafts of Madeira, IP-RAM (IVBAM), together with four companies in the sector of Agricultural Rum of Madeira, will be present at the Fair Rhum Fest Paris, which takes place between the 13th and 15th of April 2019.
The Rhum Fest Paris has already 5 editions and is considered the biggest Rum festival in Europe. The 2019 edition will take place at the Parc Floral de Vincennes and will bring together 50 exhibitors, with around 5,000 visitors expected – “Rum lovers”, 2,500 professionals and 150 journalists and bloggers.
In this event will be held several seminars, masterclasses and tests dedicated to Rum. With the Agricultural Rum of Madeira being the Protected Geographical Indication and being the only Rum Agricultural produced in Portugal, it is of all interest to make known the product, in this fair that, being held in France, a country with close connection to Rum Agricultural, through its colonies (Martinique, etc.) is a potential market for the Madeira Rums.
In addition to the producers present at the event, Engenho do Norte (J. Faria & Filhos), Engenho Novo da Madeira, Florentino Izildo Ferreira – O Reizinho and Sociedade dos Engenhos do Calheta, who will make their products known, IVBAM, IP – RAM, on the day dedicated to professionals (April 15), will hold a Masterclass on Agricultural Rum of Madeira, which will be led by Peter Holland. In addition to writing, Peter Holland is a presenter, trainer and consultant for the Spirits industry and won the 2011 Golden Barrel Awards for European Rum Blogger of the Year. He has been visiting Madeira for the last three years and is already a deep expert on Madeira’s Agricultural Rum and its economic agents.
Participation in this fair is co-financed by 85% of the Community funds provided by the Madeira Program 14-20, with the remaining amount borne by the regional budget.
