The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) has issued a yellow alert because of the sea turmoil that will be strongest especially on the north coast of Madeira and Porto Santo.
The warning is in effect between 12.00 p.m. on Friday and 3 p.m. on Saturday, as waves are expected up to 4.5 meters in the north and also on the golden island.
On the south coast, the waves, from the southwest, should not exceed 1.5 meters.
The wind will be moderate to strong (25 to 40 km / h) from the northwest, with gusts up to 65 km / h, blowing strong (35 to 50 km / h), gusting up to 80 km / h in the highlands.
In Funchal the wind will be weak (less than 15 km / h).
As for temperatures, they should oscillate between 14ºC and 20ºC, of minimum and maximum, respectively.
At higher peaks, such as the Areeiro and the Bica da Cana, temperatures will be around 2ºC / 5ºC
