The tunnel Eng. Duarte Pacheco, which connects the parishes of Arco de São Jorge and Boaventura, reopened to traffic on the morning of this Friday, May 17.
The completion of all work, which will also involve the installation of a traffic control traffic light system, is scheduled for the beginning of June.
It is recalled that, until then, some tour buses could not pass in this tunnel due to their height. An extention to the tunnel is now complete and will help the drivers who use this road section daily.
Still in the wake of these works, and aware of the inconvenience they have caused, especially to the local populations, the Regional Government, through the Regional Secretary for Infrastructures and Equipment, appreciates the people’s understanding and civility regarding the work that takes place there.
