A taste of summer. Time has invited sunbathing and diving in the sea, and temperatures promise to continue to increase in the coming days.
According to forecasts by the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) this Thursday temperatures will reach well close to 30ºC in Madeira, especially in the Lugar de Baixo area, where temperatures of 29ºC are expected. In Câmara de Lobos, forecasts point to 27ºC.
Also on Wednesday, the day will be hot, with temperatures around 25ºC in Funchal, 26ºC in Câmara de Lobos, 23ºC in Santa Cruz, 22ºC in Machico, 23ºC in São Vicente and 22ºC in Porto Santo.
According to the IPMA, there will also be a small rise in maximum upland temperatures.
The sky will be very cloudy, presenting periods of greater cloudiness in the northern slopes and in the island of Porto Santo.
The wind will be moderate (20 to 30 km / h) to predominate from the northeast, blowing sometimes strong (up to 50 km / h) in the extreme east and extreme west of the island of Madeira.
As for the state of the sea, on the north coast the waves will be from the northwest with 1.5 to 2.5 meters, while on the south coast, the waves, from the southwest, will have between 1 and 1.5 meters.
The temperature of sea water is around 20ºC.
