Madeira ‘wakes’ with a winter morning. And get ready for a ‘wet’ and windy day.
According to forecasts by the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), this Monday will be marked by periods of rain, which will be more frequent in the southern slopes and highlands until late afternoon.
Count on mostly cloudy sky, decreasing cloudiness from the late afternoon.
The wind will be moderate (15 to 30 km / h) southwest, blowing sometimes strong (up to 40 km / h), with gusts up to 65 km / h from early in the morning, becoming weak to moderate (10 to 30 km / h) from the west quadrant from the late afternoon.
In the highlands, the wind will be moderate to strong (30 to 50 km / h) southwest, with gusts up to 80 km / h until late afternoon, turning to the west quadrant at the end of the day. All seems to be well at the airport today, although it is pretty windy that side.
The IPMA also predicts a small increase in minimum temperature and indicates that temperatures in Funchal will fluctuate between 19ºC and 23ºC. This makes it feel very humid.
As for the state of the sea, on the north coast are provided northwest waves with 1 to 1.5 meters, rising to 1.5 to 2 meters from the afternoon.
On the south coast, the waves will be southwest with 1 to 2 meters.
The temperature of the sea water will be around 20 / 21ºC.
